The Final Week: The Temple & Tree

Good morning and welcome to Celina First Church of God. We are glad you are joining us today, whether you are here in person or watching with us online.

Today we continue in our series The Final Week: The Days That Changed Everything, where we are slowing down and looking closely at the final days of Jesus’ life leading up to the cross and resurrection. Last week we looked at the triumphal entry into Jerusalem. Today we continue the story and see what Jesus does next when He arrives in the city.

In this passage Jesus goes to the temple, the center of worship in Jerusalem, and confronts what He finds there. We will also see an unusual moment involving a fig tree that carries a deeper lesson about spiritual life and fruit.
